The Rear Cargo Deck is precision machined from black King Starboard 
( http://www.kingstarboard.com/Pdf/PhysPropKingStarBoard12_01_2002.pdf ), a highly stable marine grade structural plastic and is mounted with all stainless steel mounting hardware. 

It is 13 1/2" long by 11 3/4" wide and 3/4" thick.

It has slots and holes for straps and bungee cords to hold down your large bags or duffels. The Starboard deck is very strong and impervious to weather.

The Rear Cargo Deck is mounted using stainless 6mm fasteners in the holes that are used to mount the Kawasaki Fender Tool Bag. It is clamped. to the structural cross bar above the turn signals using stainless steel cushioned clamps. No modifications to the bike are required.

The slots and holes provide a versatile means of fastening a variety of loads with bungee cords or straps. The weight of the load is supported by the structural crossbar under the Rear Cargo Deck.

 Great for your camping gear or full soft luggage when you are camping or touring. A cargo bungee net makes a convenient way of holding larger loads and irregular shapes.

The ends of the quick release fasteners used on soft luggage will pass through the 9/16" wide slots at either end of the rear deck platform. You can even fit an expandable bag designed for the 650 on the deck.
